The January, February and March Zoom meetings have been very varied and enjoyable.
In January we welcomed Gymnast Emily Hunt, who gave an interesting explanation of her exploits as a competitive team Gymnast. The meeting was bought to life by an online video of Emily's and her team mates many successful competitions. We wish Emily and her team every success in the future as they get back to training after the long enforced break.
In February we welcomed Chris Watson who is a serving Fireman at Whitby. Chris told us of his early life as a Fireman and how he has progressed and is now involved not just fighting fires and attending accidents but also many additional community projects his branch are involved in. The members found Chris' talk both interesting but also a source of valuable information about the support offered by the Fire Service in rural areas
In March we welcomed "Beware of Trains" presented by John Hunt (Emily's Dad) John whose travels started 50 years ago, gave us an amazing pictorial tour of the world from Asia to South America. John told us the interesting history of the steam trains in these locations combined with fantastic scenic views. John had visited more remote places many accessible by the steam trains this made his photographs even more captivating.
